CARDIFF SINGER-OF-THE-WORLD COMPETITION - Noelle Barker, BBC
In 1992 I made my professional operatic debut in the role of "ROSSWEISSE" in Richard Wagner's Die Walküre at Arizona Opera, USA. Since then, I have internationally sung about 90 operatic roles.
I initially performed as a contralto, but subsequently my voice demanded that I expand my repertoire first to dramatic mezzo-soprano, then to dramatic soprano.
Roles include the titleroles in ELEKTRA, TURANDOT, CARMEN KUNDRY/ Parsifal, MARSCHALLIN/ Rosenkavalier, ELLEN ORFORD/ Peter Grimes, CASSANDRE/ Les Troyens, MADAME DE CROISSY/ Dialogues des Carmelites, ERDA/ Das Rheingold, Siegfried, MARTA/ Tiefland, PREZIOSILLA/ La Forza del Destino and many more..
